New employee!
Welcome to Loloah Chamoun who has joined our team as a research professional!
Loloah holds a BSc. in Food Chemistry from McGill University and an MSc. in Environmental and Occupational Health (with a specialization in Toxicology and Risk Analysis) from the Université de Montréal. She is currently a PhD candidate in human nutrition with a specialization in global food insecurity at McGill University. Her research project aims to explore the barriers and levers of edible insect consumption and marketing in Ghana. She is interested in the implementation of sustainable strategies and smart agricultural practices that equip and empower communities to address nutritional deficiencies.
Similarly, Loloah addresses the factors that inhibit the creation of healthy living environments within communities. These factors, including food insecurity and lack of access to basic health care and services, are exacerbated in Canadian Indigenous communities. His desire to contribute to the promotion and strengthening of health equity among Indigenous people led him to become interested in the work of CRASIQ. With her research experience and interests, she hopes to contribute to the mobilization of knowledge on approaches to fostering Indigenous health equity and decolonizing health professionals.
